Rare Nipponaisuki mixed media Kitsune canvas artwork!
Original character artwork of Kitsune [Inari Ōkami] based on ancient Japanese Mythology.
Inari Ōkami [messenger Kitsune, Japanese Fox spirit] is one of the Japanese Kami or Gods in Japanese Shinto and Buddhist philosophy and is the keeper of the physical and spiritual realms, and guardian of prosperity, rice and humans. Inari had also become the patron of blacksmiths and the protector of warriors. She is also believed to be the patron of fox spirits who act as her messengers.
The calligraphy created exclusively for the artwork is a collaboration with the skillful calligrapher Hiroko Fukuda of art project Wakoshi, who creates her own style of kawaii kanji.
The main Kanji message within translation limits reads
"Inari"
"Good things from heaven
Good things from earth
People's easiness"
This is a unique artwork piece with very deep and spiritual undertones.
The original piece is created using mix media on canvas, that uses special iridescent paint which in certain light make the character and calligraphy glow in certain angles, creating a very unique and spiritual effect.
